ꕥ BASIC INFO
Akeha is an assassin, from a family clan of assassins, who are tasked to serve a lord of great renown. Since childhood, Akeha has been trained to do this work, which she describes as cruel, harsh and inhumane, and speaks of being subjected to grueling work, where her days as a child were filled with screaming and demands. The only adult in her household that showed her any kindness was her uncle, who was later slaughtered by her father as an example when he tried to escape. At some point during her childhood, she is sent to kill a politician from a rival country, and briefly meets his son, who unwittingly leads her to the ship that his father is traveling on. Once there, she is approached in secret by her handler, who informs her that everyone on the ship would have to be slaughtered, including the boy Akeha had met. She and her handler do this, and she reflects on how she feels helpless, forced to perform atrocities with no end in sight.

As an adult, her skill is unmatched and highly valued by her lord. She is relied on more and more by her lord, eventually taking over as the Lady of her house. While the work takes a toll on her mentally, she still sees no way beyond the path set out for her, and both envies and longs for a normal life.

ꕥ FIRST IMPRESSIONS

✾ VISUAL: official art (1), (2), (3) Akeha is pale, with dark hair pinned back into a bun with an elaborate pin (likely a possible weapon), and dark gray eyes. Unusually, and perhaps as a stylistic choice, her pupils are sometimes depicted as being bright red. She wears a kimono that exposes one of her thighs, where a large tattoo of a stylized wing is visible, representative of her family/clan. These tattoos are also visible on each of her shoulders. The "fourth wing," as she describes it, is the ōdachi she carries with her. She also carries a wakizashi and tanto. She wears red gloves with pointed black nails, rectangular earrings, dark lipstick, red eyeshadow, and has a beauty mark under her left eye. Her actual fingernails are also painted black. Occasionally, she is shown smoking a long ceramic pipe.
✾ DEMEANOUR: Calm, poised. Akeha is from a noble house, and behaves the part: she is soft-spoken, polite and difficult to fluster, and so calm and easygoing in demeanor that it teeters into unusual. Deeper interactions with her will reveal this as something of a defense mechanism, and what appears to be calm is actually a deadening of emotions due to trauma (and constant re-traumatization). She has little wants, needs or desires of her own.
✾ SOUND: Her VA is Laura Post. It's low, husky, and she notably either rarely or does not raise her voice at all.
✾ SCENT: bro i don't know if she smokes opium, weed or tobacco but i'm going to go with the latter for now, so traces of that. probably some fancy lightly floral perfume/soap also. Traces of mineral oil/clove oil as well from polishing her swords.
✾ MENTAL INFORMATION: Akeha is a trained assassin who has been violently indoctrinated since birth, and so while outwardly she appears remarkably well-adjusted, she is in actuality passively suicidal, and has little concept of herself outside of being a weapon. She has suffered from and (it is suggested) been complicit in the physical abuse of children, and this combined with the nature of her role in the world has warped her perception of things considerably. She thinks kindness is pointless, though she yearns both to give and receive it, and has no perception of what it means to be able to choose until the moment of her apparent death.

✾ BACKTAGGING: I'm fine with backtagging in memes and PSLs eternally! If there is a significant delay (>2 weeks), I might ask that we handwave or start something new, but this is dependent on if I can think of a response. I'll communicate if necessary!
✾ FOURTHWALLING: I would prefer to avoid this.
✾ HUGGING: She is very unaccustomed to this and may be awkward but it's hard to tell with her. She maintains a level of physical distance from others so she won't react positively for it for a while.
✾ KISSING: See above but: worse. She is not above doing this in order to get close enough to murder someone but she's got a pretty warped perception of intimacy, love, and kindness.
✾ FLIRTING: This is fine! Her reaction to it will vary but I imagine her to be largely unreceptive to most flirting and won't really do it herself, unless it is to serve a purpose.
✾ FIGHTING: I'm bad at writing fighting scenes but I'm for sure open to it. Akeha is trained to fight and is considered to be exceptionally good at wielding a sword, but she mentions being able to kill with any tool in her disposal, including her bare hands. That being said she isn't superhuman OP as far as I know right now.
✾ INJURY: I'm cool with anything, but let me know before major limb or body part loss.
✾ DEATH: Just discuss it with me beforehand.

✾ RELATIONSHIPS: I'm open to f/m and f/f, and f/nb ships with her, with my preference being 21+ characters. She is a slow-burn character that takes a while to sufficiently warm up to people. As far as smut, I'm totally open to it! But she has a really warped view of sex and intimacy and sees it as a tool to be used so romance takes a while.
